1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of media products?

During our research and planning we looked at film openings within the same genre such as the film Seven (sometimes stylized as Se7en) a 1995 psychological thriller directed by David Fincher. We concluded that in order to give the viewer a sense of fear and achieve the adrenaline rush we would need to  incorporate costume and location that create a sense of realism.

We chose to use characters that would be relatively relatable and set them in a place that our target audience could imagine coming accross. For instance, the killer of our film, dressed in casual clothes, was working with accessible tools that we obtained from design & technology department of a school. This places the audience in a situation that is more true-to-life as we could imagine a real psychopathic killer would use a variety of sharp tools to harm his victims, rather than expensive weaponry, and be in locations that are easily overlooked and unsuspicious. It would've been impractical to use distant locations, such as abondoned warehouses and construction sites, due to conflicting schedules so we used a . We definitely could have improved our film if were able to take some late-night shots outside.

The school's drama studio was an extremely effective in allowing us to get accurate lighting as light from outside the room had virtually no effect. However, noises from outside classrooms were a disturbance
